Description

In October1810, the foundation stone of the Jubilee Tower situated on the summit of Moel Famau was laid by Lord Kenyon. Five thousand people processed to the top of the mountain to watch as the ceremony was enacted on behalf of the Prince of Wales.
Moel Famau and the surrounding area was home ground to Loggerheads veteran, Richard Davies. In this clip, he tells us something of the history of the enigmatic Jubilee tower and then Richard recalls the time when, as a nine-year old, at the start of WW2, he hears that a plane has just crashed nearby.
