Description

Cones on a living Monkey Puzzle tree (Araucaria araucana) growing in the grounds at National Museum Cardiff. There were other plants and animals living at the time of the dinosaurs. By looking at their fossils we can build up a picture of what the world was like when the dinosaurs were alive. Fossils show that Monkey Puzzle trees existed in the Jurassic period, 200 million years ago. This item is held at National Museum Cardiff.
