Was a police officer in Bute St Tiger Bay police station. Written numerous books on the subject of policing Cardiff prior to 1969. (The final year of Cardiff's own force) The horrors Victorian police encountered when patrolling the brutality of Cardiff's south side. 'Horrors of the Dead House' is latest book. A previously unknown police station in Tiger Bay is discovered and mapped. Dead Houses were discovered at St Mary St and Mill Lane. John F Wake's other book titles include The Mermaid of Cardigan Bay and the Camelot Inquisition. Also had plays performed at Welsh College of Musical Drama and Edinburgh Festival. Wake has been a Director of two Welsh Tourist Boards, also brought in the St Davids Flag into national use in the early 1990s. Has talked about Wales across the world, including the Smithsonian, Washington DC. Has appeared in numerous media articles, including New York Times, BBC, CBC, Golf Channel, Mexican TV, Fuji TV, among others. Resides on the west Wales coast in Ceredigion.
