John Martin (1921-). Royal Air Force, Tanygroes

John Martin recalls his time serving in the Royal Air Force during World War Two and his earlier childhood spent in London in which he personally witnessed the London Blitz. A Wireless Operator, John was shot down over Berlin on 30th January 1944, spending the remainder of the War in Prisoner of War Camps in Germany. John's collection includes two audio recordings, a written description and several photographs. In 2018/19 John's book about his experiences 'A Raid Over Berlin' (Parthian) reached the Sunday Times best sellers list.
