Summer Holiday Staycations
Due to the COVID -19 pandemic and the restrictions that were imposed during the summer of 2020 and 2021 many people stayed in Wales for their holidays instead of going abroad or visited other holiday destinations in Britain. There was also a significant increase in the number of tourist taking holidays in Wales, especially from England, and there was much talk in the media, and on social media, about 'The Staycation'.
This collection brings together snapshots of holidays spent in Wales and the experiences that people treasured in the 19th and 20thC when 'staycations' were just 'holidays'!
