Oriel Ynys Môn - Geology Collection

An example of the geological material in the collection of Oriel Ynys Môn. The collection was reviewed in November 2014. Jana Horak, head of mineralogy and petrology at National Museum Wales knows the geology of Anglesey well and led the review with the Linking Collections project officer and Ian Jones, museums officer for Anglesey Council. Many of the specimens have considerable local significance as they relate to the geology and industry of the island. The museum also houses an extensive collection of drawings by Charles F. Tunnicliffe, one of the greatest wildlife artists of the twentieth century and Anglesey resident for 35 years.
