Cock Evans Stained Glass Window 1939 WW2. St Catherine's Church, Canton
Description
The inscription on this reads: ‘To the Glory of God and in memory of Annie Cock Evans of this parish who died 6th November 1939 and her parents William Evans and Mary Hannah Evans’ The window has two panels which show Mary the Virgin with Child and Saint Willielmus. William Evans was a Master Mariner and the insignia of the Merchant Navy is shown at the top whilst either side are the his initials and those of his wife. The family lived at 137 Cathedral Road, Canton, Cardiff. The window was designed by Ninan Comper.
