Description

Document in Brown wooden frame - Inscription: Containg the names of young men of St Catherine's Canton who in the Great War of 1914 left their peaceful vocations in response to the call of their King and Country. This framed document shows the names of 96 men from the Parish of Canton who volunteered. Of these 25 were killed. Their names are recorded in an illuminated book. Each name is read out at the Remembrance Sunday Service at precisely 11am to mark the Armistice which began on the 11th hour of the 11th day, 1918.
