Photograph from the Hidden Now Heard exhibition at Carmarthenshire Museum about Hospital. In this photograph you can see the replica bedroom space created in the exhibition, where visitors could lie down and hear the oral histories through the pillows. You can also see the 'offensive pyjamas’, which became a staple item in all the Hidden Now Heard exhibitions. They have historical and contemporary terms on them, which have and are used to describe people with a learning disability. All the terms were once official medical terms but some have now fallen into being used offensively. The purpose of this display was to educate people around the origin of the words they use.
