Newspaper clipping from page four of the South Wales Echo titled 'From our Postbag - Awaiting The Call' suggesting motorists offer free transport to people visiting friends or relations on Christmas Day, Cardiff, 26 November 1955
Description
A letter in the 'From our Postbag' section in the South Wales Echo. A writer (L.A.E. of Cardiff) points out that, because there were no buses on Christmas Day, many people had to walk "considerable distances" to visit "friends or relations in the various hospitals in Cardiff". The writer suggests a call for volunteer motorists to offer lifts.

Awaiting The Call
Last Christmas Day a large number of people who wished to visit friends or relations in the various hospitals in Cardiff had to walk considerable distances.
I feel there must be many motorists like myself who would be only too happy to offer our services free of charge if a call for volunteers was made.
So how about it!
