Minutes of a Cardiff Municipal Musical Society Executive Committee meeting, which include a proposal to encourage school-children into music, Cardiff, 30 April 1946

Description

The Cardiff Municipal Musical Society provided musical theatre programmes for children, older people and those with disabilities. The society existed from 1943 to 1993. They were charged with preparing and putting on performances for the public and providing opportunities for those who love drama. The Executive Committee were the minds behind this society and this item shows the minutes of an Executive Committee meeting.

In this entry, page eight, the Executive Committee created a proposal to encourage young people into music by inviting 50 school-children to every choral performance as guests of the Society. The Committee further discussed how once this scheme was put in place, they would admit 150 children to the performances so that they might be inspired to join in the festivities.
