Stand with lattice, decorated with tea rose: painted by hand at Samuel Shufflebotham's factory, Llanelli, from 1913

Description

This is a stand for a ceramic basket. It is hand painted with tea roses. Flower painting of this type was brought to the Llanelli factory by Sam Shufflebotham, who had trained in one of the Bristol factories. Several generations of the Henshall family made the baskets with woven sides and stands such as this. Dimensions: length 28cm.
