Pictured is a flash annealing furnace used to obtain a fine grain structure for the deep drawing of car trim products ( AA5056, AA5754 or AA5252 alloys) or holloware (AA 3003 or AA3103). The hearth has an open chain conveyor allowing rapid heating to both the top & bottom surfaces, followed by air quenching to prevent grain growth. A pallet load of cut cold rolled sheet can be seen in the foreground left ready for manual loading.
