Digitising my collection

We have a dedicated team that offer support to communities, encouraging groups and individuals to use the website and share their content. If you would like any assistance to digitise or upload your collection, please don't hesitate to get in touch.

If you are happy to get started on your own, download our Digitisation Guidelines for a detailed steps on how to start digitising your collection

Training

We offer free courses, covering subjects from copyright to practical digitising skills..

Equipment loan

Your Group or Community can loan free of charge various equipment from us to make it possible for you to digitise your collection and contribute to our website. We have equipment available for digitising 2D objects and slides, recording oral history with audio and video equipment, and for creating digital stories.

All we ask is that you adhere to our Loan Policy and that you are able to pick up and return the equipment to the National Library of Wales, Aberystwyth or the National Museum of Wales, Cardiff.

Contact us to request an equipment loan.

Other Community Initiatives

We are establishing Digital Heritage Stations across Wales in partnership with organisations and groups willing to help, offering a sustainable legacy to communities, as well as provide the public with free access to IT and digitisation facilities.

Could you be the next People's Collection Wales Champion? A champion is an individual who shows enthusiasm and support for the People's Collection Wales project. This individual embraces the importance of shared heritage and will encourage others to become involved with People's Collection Wales. A champion will become an ambassador for the cause, and is a trusted individual who will be able to share best practice with others after receiving digitisation training by People's Collection Wales staff.
