This photograph taken at the charging side of the remelt foundry in Rheola, shows a bale of sheet scrap being loaded into the melting furnace ( 22t capacity). After melting and alloying was completed, the molten metal charge would be run around ( via an external launder) to the holding furnace at the back ready for DC casting into rolling slabs.
