Dickson and King, Stained Glass Window 1919 WW1. St Catherine's Church, Canton
Description
This large window spans most of the wall in the Lady Chapel and commemorates two young men who served in the same regiment and were friends. Private Dickson Walter Elliot Dickson aged 19 died of wounds at the Battle of the Somme and is also commemorated on the Thiepval Memorial to the missing. Second Lieutenant Alan Howard King aged 24 years was killed in action at Meulte, The Somme and was laid ot rest Meulte Cemetery. They both served in the Royal Fusilliers (London Regiment) 9th Battalion.
