Description
This is thew second of three short films covering an interview with British Army Veteran Leslie Smart. Leslie joined the Gloucestershire regiment in 1953 and served for 3 years as a regular soldier and four as a reservist. In this second film, Leslie talks in more detail about his experiences in A company 1 Glos reg, operating in the Kenyan Bush from Gil Gil camp. The viewer learns what daily life was like for the infantry soldier and what a strong adversary the Mau Mau proved to be.*** Viewer caution – This film contains descriptions of confrontation with armed enemies and may cause emotional upset.
