John Louis Hyacinth Jacquet was born in Swansea in 1867: his surname came from his French father (Louis Jacquet, born in Nantes). He served with the Royal Engineers and died in France aged 50 on 27 December 1917. This is a picture of his grave in Mory Abbey Military Cemetery in Northern France.
