Official Report of the loss of the AGNES on 26 December 1916

Description

During the Great War, the Admiralty initiated a system of intelligence gathering with regard to U-boat attacks, and the armament, equipment and types of U-boat involved. Standardised questionnaires were produced in English and French (Form S.A.), completed copies of which survive bound into volumes by the Intelligence Division of the Admiralty, London. These are now held at The National Archives at Kew. This typed carbon copy is an extract of the information contained on Form S.A. for the AGNES.

The AGNES was a British sailing vessel. She was sunk near St Ann's Head by UC 46 commanded by KapLt Friedrich Moecke on 26 December 1916. There were no casualties.
