Description

An extract from Morris, L., 1748. Plans of Harbours, Bars, Bays and Roads in St. George's Channel. The extract (page 46) describes the condition of fisheries in Aberystwyth at the time.

The extract reads as follows: “This is one of the greatest Fisheries in Wales; but there is at least one half of the Season lost for want of a good Harbour; which also would be very convenient in this Bay for the sake of Shipping, that are often drove in here by Stress of Weather, and stranded or lost”.
