An extract from Morris, L., 1748. Plans of Harbours, Bars, Bays and Roads in St. George's Channel. The extract (page 46) describes the chief commodities of Aberystwyth at the time, including several fish species.

The extract reads as follows: “THE chief Commodities of this Place are Herrings and other Fish, Lead Ore, Wool, Timber, and Oak Bark.”
