Short interview conducted by Vicky MaCdonald during the ‘Longest Yarn’ with visitors that shared personal memories and family stories in reaction to the exhibition. The Longest Yarn exhibition was a month-long tribute to the War Effort behind the D-Day Landings of 1944 - displaying a 3D tapestry depicting D-Day in 80 panels – was held at the Holy Trinity Church, Llandudno (October 2–27, 2024).

Anita Butler shares the story of her father who was born in Wrexham. He was called to serve as a signaller during the D-Day landings when he was 17 years old. While in Bayeux[?] with 4 other men, he was badly injured - the other men lost their lives. Returned home was rehabilitated in Kirkbymoorside Hospital. Anita remembers the effects of the war on her father even though he didn't talk about it to her. Her parents married and moved to Llanberis where he got a job in the quarry where he had to learn Welsh - the language of the quarry - and he was known as 'Bob Wrexham'. Anita also shares a story about her mother visiting hospital and receiving support from a Mr Rordgers. As a thank you, the family arranged for Mr Rodgers to stay with them during the investiture of Prince Charles [Charles Philip Arthur George] in 1969.
