A British and Foreign Bible Society notebook was given to Margaret at the age of 13 in 1863. The overall condition of the book is poor; the binding has come undone, the pages are yellowed, brittle and loose, and the cover has separated into its front and back elements.
Research into this notebook has been conducted by Margaret's descendants, uncovering the history of her life in South Wales and subsequent migration to Pittsburgh in the United States in 1886.
This account contains the original notebook, fully transcribed and translated by National Library of Wales volunteers, in addition to supporting documents and images from Margaret's story.
