An extract from Morris, L., 1748. Plans of Harbours, Bars, Bays and Roads in St. George's Channel. The extract (page 41) describes the herring availability at Red Wharf.

The extract reads as follows: ”In this Bay there are Herrings in plenty, and other Kind of Fish, of which the Inhabitants here make great Profit.”
