An extract from Morris, L., 1748. Plans of Harbours, Bars, Bays and Roads in St. George's Channel. The extract (page 42) describes the fisheries at Holyhead.
The extract reads as follows: ”The other natural Productions and Commodities of the place are Butter, Cheese, Bacon, Wild Fowl in abundance, Oysters, Lobsters, Crabs, Razor-fish, Shrimps, Herrings, Cod-fish, Whiting, Whiting Pollacks, Blackings, Sea Tench, Turbot, Soles, Flounder, Rays, and other Fish in Plenty.”
